SHOT Show 2018: YHM’s New Resonator Suppressor
Okay, so SHOT Show may not have officially begun quite yet, but the news is already rolling in. You may recall that last year, I published a review of the Yankee Hill Machine’s 5.56mm Turbo suppressor. In that article, I offered glowing feedback for YHM’s way-better-than-it-should-be offering. I was simply blown away that a sub-$400 (street) silencer could put up that kind of performance while also sporting a QD mount and durable build.
On Friday, YHM expanded their affordable suppressor line with the addition of the Resonator. A .30 caliber can, the Resonator is effectively the big brother of the Turbo. It sports the same Inconel/17-4 stainless steel construction, tubeless design, and QD mounting system. The only real difference, aside from the bore diameter, is that it is just a bit longer – 7.825”. The full specs are below.
As a big fan of the Turbo, this release excites me. YHM has, over the last two or three years, taken a substantial leap forward in terms of performance and weight across their entire suppressor line. They’ve replaced older designs like the Cobra M2 and the Mite with much better offerings like the Sidewinder and Stinger. Then, of course, there’s the Turbo. The Resonator looks like yet another solid entry in the line and you can be sure that I’ll be doing everything I can to get one in for review as soon as possible.
