The engineers at PTR are well-known for their roller-delayed firearms, but it wasn’t until SHOT Show 2024, that they branched out into the world of scatterguns with the Jack.
Although the new Jack looks like a standard cut-down Remington 870 shotgun, it’s actually a proprietary design. One that is more closely related to the Mossberg 500 than the Remington.
The entire gun feels like a tank. Constructed primarily of hardened steel, it’s clear that the new Jack shotgun isn’t just a conversation starter or a range toy. It’s built from the ground up to be a breeching shotgun for law enforcement and military units.
The new PTR shotgun is a serious piece of equipment meant for hard use.
Parts Compatibility
Despite being a proprietary design, the new Jack shotgun from PTR Industries can use Mossberg internals and furniture. So if you have your favorite setup for the 500, your options are limitless.
The engineers at PTR stated that the new Jack shotgun is available for purchase now. But seeing as its an AOW in the eyes of the ATF, shooters will have to pay five dollars and wait several months to get one. Also, the gun will retail for around $700.
