The much-anticipated TATULA 100, the latest addition to DAIWA’s highly popular TATULA reel family, made its debut at the recent ICAST 2023 New Product Showcase.
Enhanced Features of TATULA 100
DAIWA’s innovative product development team has reimagined the TATULA 100 to provide an optimal option for various bass fishing applications. Marc Mills, DAIWA’s marketing manager, elaborated on the new features, notably a lighter, thinner aluminum spool and HYPERDRIVE gearing, both aimed at increasing casting distance, control, and enhanced gear rotation.
“We’ve added two significant new features,” he said. “The first is a new, thinner and lighter 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum spool for greater casting distance and more control. We thinned down the walls of the spool while retaining its rigidity. Ultimately, we created a farther-casting reel with better braking system.”
Exclusive HYPERDRIVE Design
One of the key upgrades in the TATULA 100 is the incorporation of the HYPERDRIVE design, typically found in DAIWA’s high-end models like STEEZ and ZILLION.
The HYPERDRIVE design, exclusive to DAIWA, offers an ultra-smooth retrieve and powerful winding performance, integrating four key technologies: HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT, HYPER ARMED HOUSING, and HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, one of the critical components of the HYPERDRIVE design, increases power transfer efficiency, creating a smoother and more potent gear set with reduced gear noise. The HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT uses a dual-bearing support system for the reel’s pinion gear, eliminating flex for an ultra-smooth retrieve and gear rotation.
The HYPER ARMED HOUSING incorporates an aluminum frame and side plate for optimal rigidity and precise performance of internal components. Lastly, the HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH, a robust, reinforced clutch mechanism, improves durability and performance.
