Griffin Armament Unveils Bushwhacker 46 Universal Sound Suppressor

The sound suppressor market is a tricky nut to crack; consumers want ultra-durable high-performance cans for cheap that can be used on all their firearms. Most suppressor manufacturers simply shrug this off, and instead build purpose-specific products that serve one role exceptionally well. But Griffin Armament isn’t most suppressor makers.

The Wisconsin-based Griffin Armament has been producing high-quality sound suppressors for countless calibers for 14 years, and was founded by two brothers who suffered hearing loss during their tours in the Middle East during Operation Iraqi Freedom. They founded the company in response to this hearing loss and to offer soldiers and civilians high quality, high performance sound suppressors at a fair price.

This dedication to quality shines through with all of Griffin’s products, and the new Bushwhacker 46 is no exception. Designed from inception to offer shooters the most versatile sound suppressor possible, the Bushwhacker 46 is not only configurable for dozens of calibers, but it also works on both long guns and pistols. And while other companies have accomplished this in the past, Griffin is among the first to offer their new multi-caliber suppressor with enough accessories to allow shooters to run their Bushwhacker on several guns in different calibers, right out of the box.

One Can to Rule Them All

The Bushwhacker’s 46 caliber diameter allows it to be run on even big bore rounds like .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM and .45-70 Govt. This would be impressive in its own right, but the fact that this same suppressor can be adapted to any threaded (or tri-lug) handgun is incredible.

Despite this versatility and durability, the Bushwhacker 46 only weighs in at 16.4 ounces in rifle configuration and 18.1 ounces in pistol configuration. Plus, it boasts 141dB performance with full power .450 bushmaster 126dB readings with subsonic .300blk and 130dB with .45 ACP.

The folks at Griffin even went so far as to manufacture an adaptor for the Bushwhacker to be mounted on unmodified 1928a1 Thompson SMGs by latching on the cutts compensator! With the incredible modularity of the new Bushwhacker 46, it seems destined to become the ideal centerfire suppressor. One that shooters can buy who are on the fence about which caliber to purchase, while ensuring excellent performance at a price point that won’t have them sleeping on the couch for the foreseeable future.
