Griffin Armament Announces MGL Lineup of KAC-Compatible Suppressors
Griffin Armament owners and former army snipers Austin & Evan had a desire to own the weapons systems they were issued, and to be able to introduce their families to their history including the rifles they used during their time in the army. After years of searching for suppressors to accompany their corresponding host rifles, it became clear the MK11 Mod 0, the M110, and to a lesser extent the associated 16” accurate carbines built with two pin suppressor mountable gas blocks, exist in greater numbers than the available market suppressors to support them. Veterans like us trying to collect these rifles and shoot them with suppressors as they were intended to be used, were having difficulty obtaining the suppressors to complete their rifles.
These are the basic reasons why Griffin is announcing its Military GATE-LOK™ (MGL™) lineup of KAC-compatible suppressors – a series benefiting from the PSR and HRT development programs conducted by Griffin circa 2022 through 2023. These are not clones; rather, compatible Griffin-designed suppressors made using the most modern and advanced silencer manufacturing methods of the present day to deliver compatible suppressors with competitive sound performance, increased mounting retention, and higher durability at a lighter system weight. The lengths of the suppressors were kept close, or identical to the original suppressor, and incorporate Griffin’s most developed Pressure Reduction Cap to minimize gas blowback and reduce flash signature significantly over the basic front cap design of the original suppressors.
The MGL™ ECO-FLOW™ baffle stack was adopted from the G2 PSR 7™ over-the-barrel suppressor and brings to market a two-pin gas block compatible mount with a Griffin Armament-developed secondary locking mechanism to ensure secure attachment of the suppressor and prevent inadvertent unlocking – an issue with the spring ball-detent locking mechanism of the original cans. The three models are as follows and are compatible with the M110/Mk11 Mod 1, MK11 Mod 0, and SR25 EMC, EC, and ECC rifles respectively: MGL-110, MGL-11, and MGL-C (carbine).
