Rugged Suppressors Introduces Lightweight Radiant 762 Suppressor

Aside from Dead Air’s Nomad-30 and Odessa-9 releases, the suppressor industry was mostly dormant in 2018. This week’s introduction of the Radiant 762 by Rugged Suppressors is hopefully an indication that 2019 won’t be a repeat.

The Radiant 762 addresses a major – I’d even say gaping – hole in Rugged’s lineup. While the company has the Razor 762 and Micro 30, Rugged doesn’t truly have a flagship-type suppressor that’s both lightweight and a strong all-around performer. The Radiant 762 changes that and gives up very little while doing so.

Made with a titanium tube packed with Stellite baffles, the 5.1” primary portion of the suppressor weighs just 9.4 ounces. Adding the all-titanium front module tacks on another 2.4”, but only 3.1 additional ounces (for a total of 12.5). It’s impressive by any standard that Rugged has managed a 7.5”,30 caliber suppressor that offers high-end performance and carries a weight penalty of just 12.5 ounces. For reference, assuming Rugged’s specs are accurate, the Radiant weighs less than lightweight favorites like the Griffin Armament Alpha/Paladin and the SilencerCo Omega 300. Speaking of performance, Rugged claims the short configuration turns in a 138 dB performance with .308 while the long format comes in at 131 dB, both at the ear with an unspecified host rifle (likely a bolt-action based on peer suppressor performance).

The MSRP for the Radiant 762 is $1,300, which is identical to the Surge 762. Like the Surge, street price for the Radiant should be around $950.
