Palmetto State Armory’s New PSAK-47 GB2 Hits the Market

After months of anticipation, Palmetto State Armory (PSA) has finally brought their PSAK-47 rifles back to market. Readers may recall that the previous PSAKs were maligned for questionable build quality and cast barrel trunnions, which aren’t true to AKM specs. The new versions represent an improvement over the originals. While build quality remains to be seen, the GB2s feature billet trunnions. True military-spec rifles use forged ones and PSA plans to offer those in future versions, but billet trunnions should theoretically be more consistent than cast parts. Like the past models, the GB2s come with Melonite-treated, 4150 steel barrels.

Right now, the only GB2 offering available is a full rifle with polymer furniture, but PSA has said that barreled receivers and wood-stocked versions will soon be available as well. The polymer-dressed guns carry relatively reasonable price tags at $699.
