Dead Air and Silencer Shop Back Together
May 23, 2017After almost a year and a half of separation, two of the silencer industry’s best companies are finally back together. That’s right, Silencer Shop and Dead Air Armament have formally announced the restoration of their partnership, and their whole lineup of suppressors are now available through Powered By Silencer Shop dealers and SID kiosks around the country.
There’s no question; this agreement is a major win for both parties. Unlike the strained SilencerCo-Silencer Shop relationship, Dead Air and the folks in Austin have remained on very good terms since their November 2015 divorce. They’ve both frequently tried to work through their disagreements (the vast majority of which have to do with pricing), but Silencer Shop’s unique business model combined with Dead Air’s ownership structure to make the process a bit more difficult than it might superficially appear. With the price roadblocks out of the way, the two are quite literally back in business.
Consumers are also big winners here. Dead Air’s lineup is unquestionably loaded with solid performers and some very unique offerings (especially the Wolverine PBS-1). Silencer Shop’s distribution model makes purchasing suppressors just about as easy as is legally permissible. Making good cans more accessible is never a bad thing.
From a personal perspective, I’m very excited about this news. The new agreement will allow us to bring Dead Air silencers into the Silencer Shop Authority fold for in-depth reviews and opinions. There’s no question we will be working on getting Dead Air’s cans in as soon as they’re available.
Dead Air’s suppressors are available at Silencer Shop starting today.
