Remington 700 Mountain Stainless Now in 6.5 Creedmoor
Remington introduced a new caliber for their Model 700 Mountain Stainless, the 6.5 Creedmoor. According to Remington, the Mountain is a light-weight and durable rifle ideal for extended periods of handling in the worst weather conditions.
Some features of note are the stainless-steel barreled action has an attractive satin finish, coupled with a Bell & Carlson stock with an aluminum bedding block. Featuring a mountain contour barrel, it weighs in at roughly 6lbs 2oz. Also, the Mountain Stainless features Remington’s user adjustable X Mark pro trigger. Combined with a 22″ cold hammer forged light contour barrel this looks to be a great long range hunting rifle. Pair with a lightweight high-quality optic and you have set up you can hike all day with.
MSRP for the 700 Mountian SS is $1152 but online searches found prices closer to the $800 range. Remington is targeting an already crowded market of 6.5 rifles. However, there seems to be no slow down in Creedmoor mania.
