Perfect Photos of Your Buck with The TrophyShot

A few months ago, a good friend showed me a picture of her recent quarry: a whitetail deer posing pristine, head upright, antlers on full display, and my friend grinning ear-to-ear behind it. The presentation was great, and that was the reason she showed the photo to me. While on a hunting trip, she’d learned about a product called Trophy Shot. I have supported TrophyShot since before its public debut, and I want to tell you about the problems it solves, my experience with it, and why I will continue to use it in the future.

Taking the Perfect Shot

Usually, the first thing you do when you recover a deer you have shot is pull out your cell phone and have your hunting partner take a photo for posterity. We have all been there, trying to figure out how to hold the deer’s head up and present the animal in a tasteful and flattering light. This can be challenging depending on the deer and how fast your partner is with the camera.

The TrophyShot allows anyone to take professional quality photos and does so with ease. The product eliminates the strain of holding up the head of the deer (or other antlered game) while allowing you to move a little left or a little right while trying to smile and follow the photographer’s directions. The TrophyShot makes it easy to position the animal to capture the perfect pose. Taking field photos is easier since there is no longer a need to use sticks or rocks under the animal’s jaw. How many of us have tried other techniques like backpacks, corn bags, ropes, or other methods that do not work?

What if you don’t have a partner to take the photo? Now you’re in the position of trying to wedge the deer against a tree or set your phone on a timer and hold the deer up or take a photo of the deer on the ground. The TrophyShot system also allows you to capture in-field photographs of yourself and, for the first time, allows family or friends to be in them with you. Even those hunters that hunt alone can now take pictures of themselves and capture that special memory. It takes just a few moments to set up, and with the simple push of a button, you can get that perfect trophy picture.

My biggest buck to date and a perfect photo.
My biggest buck to date and a perfect photo.

My personal experience with The TrophyShot happened at Red Sand Ranch where I was fortunate to use this product before its official launch. I was able to snap the perfect photograph of my biggest buck to date. The instructions are simple to follow. It is easy to fold, lightweight, and user friendly. I set it up myself and created the perfect display of my deer while leaving the visibility of The TrophyShot to the imagination. It is small, easy to conceal, store, and pack and even fits in a backpack. It’s also made in America. The product will last for years and has a lifetime warranty. I have added this product to my hunting checklist and will continue to use it this season for native and exotic game.

The TrophyShot includes a patented proprietary deer positioning stand, a monopod for your phone, and a Bluetooth camera shutter button that connects to iPhone and Android phones along with other Bluetooth devices. For those of us who have someone to help take photos, the monopod and shutter button may just be an extra. The real winner is the positioning stand. It can be used at the exact location of the point of impact drop or in a signature area a ranch may want to showcase. The system is easily transportable in your truck or ATV and even fits the needs of solo hunters. We all know how special our trophy room is to us individually and how much we enjoy sharing them with others. Now your virtual trophy room can have that wow factor, too.

The TrophyShot officially launched two weeks ago at the Texas Trophy Hunters Association Hunters’ Extravaganza. The trophy room of the modern era is on your cell phone or computer. You can visit their website www.thetrophyshot.com to learn more about the product and the innovative ways that the TrophyShot team is helping hunters capture that picture of a lifetime.

How to set up The Trophyshot

  1. Position deer with all four legs under him.
  2. Position The TrophyShot and place the base of the front crossbar under the chest of the deer. Now place the neck of the deer by leaning it across the front crossbar with the head turned 90 degrees (see pictures).
  3. Adjust the neck ring and put the animal’s neck in it just below where it connects to the skull. We have included a cheater bar to adjust the size of the neck ring. Bigger deer will require you to widen it and for smaller deer, you need to decrease the size of the ring to hold the deer’s head up.
  4. Place the phone on the camera stand and position it where you want to take the picture.
  5. Pair your phone with the wireless Bluetooth key FOB and start taking selfies to obtain the perfect picture.

*Tip : To Make the TrophyShot Invisible. The deer relative to the camera is placed at the 12 o’clock position. If the animal’s head is in a left turn then place the camera between the 5 and 6 pm position. If you position the deer in a right turn then the camera should be placed between 6 and 7 pm.

*Tip: collect some local foliage or rocks and grass and place it at the base of the TrophyShot where the deer neck and shoulder touch the ground. This will also help to camouflage the TrophyShot and help you to take the perfect picture
