MYSTERY RANCH NEW RELEASE – Anchor Point Bow Case

On the first of July, MYSTERY RANCH released their first soft-sided bow case. You may be thinking a soft case? Really?? How is that supposed to protect my gear? If that’s the case, welcome to the club because that was one of the first things that crossed my mind. However, since it’s MYSTERY RANCH, I had to try it out. And just like everything else MYSTERY RANCH creates, you can tell they put a lot of thought and high-quality craftsmanship into this product.

You may be on the other side, where you’ve used soft cases your whole life, and this is no big deal. But I’ve had a hard case since owning a bow, so I wasn’t sure what I would think about the Anchor Point. I wasn’t sure if I would feel comfortable transporting my bow in a soft case, especially if I ever needed to throw it in the back of the truck or expose it to the elements. Well, MYSTERY RANCH thought of this. The Anchor point was designed with weather-proof ballistic nylon, so you can be confident having your case exposed to the elements and not have to worry about getting all your gear wet.

And regarding bouncing around in the back of the truck…well, they thought of that, too. They added loops to secure your gear and all-around padding to protect your gear. The padding is enough to have peace of mind, and you can strap it down quickly when in doubt or taking long hauls. And speaking of strapping it down, let’s talk about securing your bow. Inside the case, you have options to adjust how you secure your bow using the removable hook-and-loop straps and the three daisy chains (pictured below), making just about any setup possible.

Regarding storage, the Anchor Point has several pockets to store arrows, range finders, tools, etc. The pockets are different sizes and have various levels of protection. I use the main inside lid pocket to store my quiver/broadhead-equipped arrows and the outside main pocket to store my arrows with field tips. There are also mesh pockets on the inside of the outside pocket and lined on the inside of the lid—plenty of options.

If you like additional compartmentalization, then you’re in luck. Because the main compartment has loop fabric for attaching hook-mounted accessories and pouches. MYSTERY RANCH also released the Anchor Point Cube, equipped with hook Velcro, as an additional product you can purchase for $20 to add extra storage inside your case. The cool thing is you can quickly move it around to fit your setup. I threw my release and range finder in a Cube, and the Velcro held firm and didn’t move during transport.

Can I also take a moment to say that if you have had a hard case for a while, and you switch to the Anchor Point…You’re going to feel like you can run up a mountain. My setup must be 20 lbs. lighter than before, and I think it’s well-protected. I wouldn’t trust putting this thing through airport baggage handling; that probably wouldn’t end well…but every other scenario is covered.

Overall, I was impressed with this case. Its light weight has made trips to and from the truck so much easier, and now I can carry everything I need at the range in one place. This case will easily be my go-to for short—or long-distance hunts this season. If this interests you, check out the exact specifications on The Anchor Point Bow Case page on MYSTERY RANCH’s site.

Here are some of the main features that I noticed:

Size:

Have you ever bought or been given a bow case only to realize…your bow doesn’t fit? Hopefully, I am not the only one…but it looks like MYSTERY RANCH covered most of its bases when it made this case 42” long and 18” wide. So, if you shoot a compound bow, chances are it’ll fit.

Padding/Protection:

The weather protection is a huge plus, as is the all-around padding. I feel comfortable transporting my bow, arrows, and additional tools/gear, in this case, in the back seat or in the bed of my truck if it is secured. On the inside of the case, you have adjustable bow straps as well as stretch-woven Cam Pockets to protect your cams and your string and ensure it’s well secured.

Transport:

The eight loops to the exterior can be used to strap down your case while driving to/from your hunt location if your back seat is not an option. I’ve taken it to the range a few times and have not had any issues with my sight or tuning from being banged around. I also used the added loops to hang my bow out of the way in my closet.

Storage:

The inner lid has two zippered mesh pockets and a large padded zippered pocket for quiver, arrow case, or extra layers. The padded outer pocket is perfect for extra arrows and additional mesh pockets for tools/accessories. I easily fit all my range gear and additional tools in my case.

Versatility:

Most cases I have used have stationary straps for securing your bow; sometimes, you must get creative to make them work. The ability to move the bow straps up, down/left, and right is a great feature. Top that off with the loop fabric to attach additional storage, and it’s hard to beat. And you can fit just about any compound bow in this thing.

Quality:

The craftsmanship meets all the standards of MYSTERY RANCH products. You’ll pay a little bit more than you would for most soft cases, but you’re getting a high-quality product. And it’s guaranteed for life:

“Guaranteed For Life

We guarantee that everything we build will be free of defects in manufacturing and material for the practical lifetime of the product.
