Lever-Action .300Blk Carbine – Henry Supreme

Henry’s new Supreme rifle proves that all-American companies can still dominate at SHOT Show. The new lever-action rifle combines the classic Americana aesthetics of Henry Rifles with modern conveniences that really elevate it to the next level.

At first glance, the new Henry Supreme looks like a simple modification of the Henry Long Ranger released at SHOT Show 2023, but it’s actually a radically different firearm.

Where the Long Ranger was basically just a Big Boy rifle modified to feed from proprietary mags, the new Supreme uses a totally different lever system.

The action in the new Henry Rifle uses a system to linkages to drastically shorten the lever’s throw. This was the biggest limitation with the Longer Ranger when it comes to capacity.

Henry Supreme (ly) Fun Gun

At Industry Day at the Range during SHOT Show 2024, I had a little time to shoot the .300blk version of the new Henry, and not only was it very quiet, but remarkably soft-shooting. The action was buttery smooth, and from my limiting shooting out to about 100 yards, I was easily capable of landing head shots on a human silhouette target.

The new Supreme, as a platform really does present several interesting options for Henry’s engineering team. They could build these guns in 6.8, or maybe even 350 Legend for shooters living in states where only straight-walled cartridges are allowed for hunting.

Also, since the barrel is factory threaded, the new Henry makes an excellent suppressor host.

Regardless, if the amount of buzz generated at SHOT Show 2024 was any indication, this is yet another big win for Henry.

That said, until I get a chance to benchrest shoot the new Supreme and put a few hundred rounds through the gun, I won’t be able to say with certainty if it’s good to go. But if previous Henry products are any indication, it should be awesome!
