Griffin Armament’s New AR Furniture Hits Stores
A few months ago, I noted in one of my Modern Rifleman Weeklies that Griffin Armament planned to jump into the AR-15 accessory market with both feet. With everything from charging handles to full-on rifles either currently available or coming in the near future, the Wisconsin-based company is set to become much more than just a suppressor manufacturer.
This week, their new furniture kits hit stores everywhere. The parts not only look nice, but Griffin’s pricing is also very reasonable. I’m working on picking up a set to evaluate on one of my rifles. In the meantime, the press release is posted below.
The Extreme Condition Stock (ECS™) is a replacement stock for AR-15/ M4 and AR10 Mil-Spec buffer tubes. It features a proprietary low drag latching mechanism with a beefy tool steel locking pin. This mechanism in conjunction with optimal geometry and impact modified injected materials allow the ECS™ to pass a 10 foot drop test without failure when used with the Griffin Maritime Receiver Extension HD (MRE-HD). Additionally holes along the stock and rear putt pad communicate with the MRE and in Griffin’s testing allowed direct impingement Ar15s to safely pass an “Over the Beach Test”. A low profile anti-rotation QD sling swivel socket, canted butt pad for improved ergonomics, and beard friendly comb (read no mil spec style hole present) are additional features of the ECS stock.
The A3 Grip is a basic affordable option which matches the Griffin RailShield™ covers in style and provides a more vertical grip angle. It also lacks the A2 style finger shelf.
The RailShield™ 4 panel kit is an M-LOK™ compatible kit which allows a full hand grip protecting the shooters hand from thermal transfer of the rail itself. The optional palm stop panel features a rearward tang allowing the shooter to anchor the firearm hard in the shoulder pocket without pushing the hand forward onto the rail.
