The New GiantMouse ACE Riv Is A Handy, Compact Folder

The new GiantMouse ACE Riv knife proves that good things really do come in small packages. The Riv is a compact folder in the company’s ACE line of folding knives. The Riv was designed in the lines of the GiantMouse Biblio model, but is a completely new design with its own feel and expression.

GiantMouse ACE Riv: Handy Compact Knife

Why a compact knife? The knife’s designers, Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes, grew up out in nature working the forest and doing chores around the house. They were taught to carry a fixed blade and a small folder. The fixed blade will perform most of the cutting tasks, but the folder should be kept razor sharp for finer tasks and be your back-up, if the fixed blade is lost or dulls. The Riv fills that role perfectly.

The Riv is available in Titanium, Brass, and Green Canvas Micarta.

While the green canvas Micarta version will be sold through dealers, the brass and full Ti versions are GiantMouse exclusives, and will only be available on the GiantMouse website.

All feature Elmax blade steel, ball bearing pivot, and titanium frame lock.

The blades are 2.44 inches (62mm) in length, measured from tip to forward-most aspect of the frame, and are 0.118-inch (3mm) thick. The handles are 3.375 inches (85.73mm) long. That gives the Riv an overall length of 5.75 inches (146mm).

The GiantMouse ACE Riv is available in titanium, brass or green canvas micarta.

GiantMouse: Small Production, Big Quality

GiantMouse is the brainchild of Danish designers / knifemakers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes (Vox), along with American entrepreneur Jim Wirth. GiantMouse provides innovative knife designs with the high production quality at a fair price, while remaining closely involved with its community of customers. Jens and Jesper stand behind every knife, only producing knives that they will carry and use themselves. The ACE Riv knives range in price from $185 to $210.
