German Precision Optics Enters Red Dot Market with New SPECTRAdot Red Dot Scope

German Precision Optics (GPO) enters into the red dot scope market with the new SPECTRAdot Red Dot Scope. Designed to meet the needs of tactical shooters and hunters that require rapid target acquisition, this high-quality, lightweight and compact red dot scope is the perfect mate to most tactical and sporting rifles and shotguns.

The SPECTRAdot features high-efficiency power management with a battery runtime of up to 50,000 hours with a CR2032 battery, a mount that mates with both Weaver and Picatinny-style rails, precision ½ MOA windage and elevation click adjustments, and IPX 7 sealing. The red dot brightness measuring 3 MOA also enables the use of the SPECTRAdot in a variety of lighting conditions, with six daytime and five nighttime settings.

Red dot sights, long a favorite sighting system for law enforcement, AR platforms and military personnel, have been finding favor with more and more niche hunters as well. For example, many Alaska brown bear guides mount them on their large-caliber back-up rifles for use in thick cover, and countless turkey hunters have found that a red dot sight is a much more accurate and quick sighting system than traditional front bead or old-school post-and-notch-type sighting systems.

The GPO SPECTRAdot sight measures 2.53 inches long x 1.4 inches tall x 1.78 inches wide and weighs just 6.63 oz. without lens covers and mount. It is IPX-7 waterproof submersible rated and includes an instruction manual, cleaning cloth, Allen key, objective and ocular lens caps, and a low-profile Picatinny/Weaver mount.
