DeSantis Gunhide Introduces Variable GRD Pistol Holster

It’s the best of both worlds when it comes to this pistol holster. Imagine a leather pistol holster that secures the gun with a “click” the way synthetic holsters do. DeSantis Gunhide has just introduced one. DeSantis is on my short list of companies I look to first when choosing a pistol holster. For nearly five decades, DeSantis has been developing, designing, and manufacturing superb gun holsters whether you prefer American-premium hides or the toughest synthetics.

Variable GRD: Newest DeSantis Pistol Holster

The newest holster in the DeSantis lineup is model #194, the Variable GRD. This outside the waistband holster is constructed by experienced craftsmen at the DeSantis factory in New York using only the highest quality premium saddle leather.

The opening of the holster is shaped with external leather reinforcements on both sides to keep the top of the holster stable allowing for an easy one-hand return. Like many other DeSantis holsters, this model is both ambidextrous and adjustable for height and cant.

The #194 also features the Gunhide Retaining Device (GRD). This feature is a built in internal component that helps retain the weapon and registers an audible “click” once secured. The GRD also protects from rear takeaway attempts. The #194 is now available for many commonly carried autoloaders in black and saddle tan. The MSRP is $79.99.
