Chuck Norris Joins Glock
GLOCK made some waves recently with the announcement of Chuck Norris as company spokesperson. It’s hard to argue who the more well-known brand is. However, GLOCK has wasted no time capitalizing on Chuck Norris’s fame. There have been a slew of social media posts and press releases over the past few weeks.
Chuck Norris fills the void within GLOCK left by the passing of R. Lee Ermey who was a spokesperson for the brand from 2011 till 2018. Fans of the polymer pistol brand seem excited about the replacement but Gunny left big shoes to fill. Shoes that Norris should be able to handle with ease.
From GLOCK “As a company driven by a commitment to perfection, relentless innovation, and disciplined precision, GLOCK was seeking a spokesperson that exemplifies the same characteristics and principles. The parallels between GLOCK and Norris deliver an authentic, fun and legendary alignment of brands.”
“Chuck Norris revolutionized and ushered martial arts into the American mainstream just like GLOCK revolutionized firearms by inventing and commercializing polymer-based pistols and the SAFE ACTION® System” said Josh Dorsey, Vice President of GLOCK, Inc. “Having him represent the GLOCK brand brings two iconic names together that are mutually committed to perfection and their fan base. We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership.”
If you are attending NRA Annual Conference in Indianapolis April 26-27, 2019 you will have a chance to meet Norris at the GLOCK booth. This will be the first public appearance as the new spokesperson.
“I’m honored to partner with this world-renowned brand,” said Norris. “The values that I have built my life and brand on—tough, real, constant and powerful. Those values are echoed in everything that GLOCK does and creates. Let me put it this way, if I ever decided to go into firearms, there would be no point. I would just be recreating what GLOCK has already built. The only thing that would change is the name.”
I grew up in Canada, but unfortunately, I did not take advantage of shooting or hunting when I lived there. I just didn’t grow up with it, but I did fish a lot. It’s only after I joined a firearm company that I could reap the benefits of having great mentors teach me the ropes. Now I’m hooked and want to experience everything I can! So much so, I was compelled to co-found this site. I hope you enjoy it, and all feedback is welcome.
